ESE is conducted for 1200 marks and if the students get more than 600 marks, they can easily get the job. Students can get this score only when they prepare with proper planning. It is better to read the referred book as this is a high standard examination. It is true that people cant get rank in this with just bit rank.

Books which are used for CAT, Civils, IFS and other exams which are conducted by the UPSC should be referred for general aptitude. RS Agarwal books are also helpful. Candidates should follow the TOEFL books for general English. Candidates should mainly concentrate on the construction of paragraph, comprehension, correcting the errors in the sentences and other issues. Syllabus which is designed for the UPSC civils can be followed for general studies. For the present issues, candidates should read the newspapers daily and it is sufficient to study the topics which took place before one year from the examination date.

There will be 12 units from the engineering syllabus and they will be divided into two sections. Based on the first 6 units, paper 1 is prepared. Paper II in section 2 will be prepared with the next 6 units. Preparation should be done according to the nature of the question paper.

Application process for ESE
• Application for ESE should be sent online only and candidates from the northeastern countries like Jammu & Kashmir and other countries should apply offline.
• Candidates who complete engineering or any equivalent degree can apply for the ESE. Candidates who complete M.Sc in electronics/ wireless communications/ radio physics/ radio engineering can also apply for ESE. Candidates who are studying the final year in engineering are also eligible. All the students from engineering related to any branch can apply for ESE.
• Last date for the online applications is February 7th, 2011
• Exam will be conducted on May 14th, 2011
