Pilgrims planning to have Darshan of lord balaji at Tirumala have to reach Tirupati. Tirupati is well connected by air, rail and road. Pilgrims can reach Tirumala from Tirupati either by foot, private cars or APSRTC buses. Those planning to reach Tirumala from Tirupati by foot have to reach Alipiri and from there they can start their journey by foot to Tirumala. Luggage carried by the pilgrims can be given at Alipiri to the TTD authorities and the luggage is carried to Tirumala by TTD (Tirumala Tirupati Devastanam).
APSRTC (Andhra Pradesh State road Transport Corporation) operates buses from Tirupati to Tirumala. APSRTC buses start from 3.00 AM in the morning to 12.00 AM in the night with a frequency of 3 minutes and during Brahmotsavam celebrations they ply 24 hours with a frequency of 1 minute. APSRTC buses from Tirupati to Tirumala start from Sri Venkateswara Bus Station (SVBS), Balaji Link Bus Station (BLBS), Sapthagiri Link Bus Station (SLBS) and Sri Padmavathi Bus Station (SPBS) to Tirumala.
Those coming to Tirupathi by train or Tourist buses from other places can catch the APSRTC buses at Sri Venkateswara bus station and Sri Padmavathi bus station which are near Tirupati railway station. Pilgrims arriving from Bangalore by Tourist buses can catch APSRTC buses to Tirumala at Balaji Link Bus station at Alipiri. Pilgrims reaching to Tirupati from Chennai, Hyderabad and Vijayawada sectors can catch APSRTC buses to Tirumala at Sapthagiri Link Bus station located in the Central Bus Station Complex.
