Tata institute of social sciences (TISS) is the popular institute which is producing many HR experts. They are providing human resources and labor relations, social work, development studies, public health and they can do PG in disaster management.

  • There will be two levels in the TISS entrance exam and the weightage for the part 1 is 25% and the part 2 is having 75% weightage. There will be 15 questions from analytical reasoning and quantitative ability, 20 questions from verbal ability, and 15 questions from general awareness. The duration of the exam is 45 minutes. There won’t be negative marking.
  • The part 2 will depend on the subject which the candidate chooses and there will be 5 sections in the paper. There will be questions on the data interpretation, data sufficiency, reading comprehension, business knowledge and foundations of management. There will be 75 questions and the exam duration is one hour.
  • The last date of the exam is 22nd, October, 2010. The exam date is 12th December, 2010.


Institute of rural management (IRM) is the institute which develops the people for the management of the NGOs and this institute is there in Gujarat. This institute is on the top of the sectoral business schools. There will be 60 questions based on the general awareness. They should answer 200 questions in 2 hours. There will be 40 questions from verbal ability, 50 questions from reasoning ability and 50 questions from data interpretation.

They should apply online and the last date is September 30th, 2010. There will be fee concession for the merit students and there will be few scholarships.


The Delhi University is one of the top institutes and there is more demand for the MBA and MBA-MS programs which are conducted by the faculty of the management studies. The reason for the demand is the quality education with low fees. The MBA fee per year is only Rs.10, 500 in the FMS and there are 150 seats in MBA and 160 seats in MBA-MS. The number of people who write the exam every year is 35000.

  • There will be 200 questions in the entrance and each question carries 4 marks. There will be negative marking and each wrong question will be deducted by one mark. They should answer the questions in 2 hours.
  • There will be four sections in the paper and English is given more importance. There will be 100 questions in the verbal ability and comprehension. The reading comprehensions will be big and the questions will also be difficult.
  • They should apply only through online and the last date for the registration is 15th October, 2010. The exam date is December 5th and they should write this exam for the part time MBS course also.


Narsee monji school of management is the first institute which got 5 star rating by the NAC. It is the deemed university and the students who want to study in this institute should write the Narsee monji management aptitude test.

  • There will be 150 questions in NMAT and the duration of the exam is 2 hours. There will give 1 mark for the correct answer and 1/4th mark for the wrong answer. There will be 32 questions from verbal ability, 48 questions from quantitative aptitude and data interpretation and 40 questions from the reasoning ability. The exam is conduced online.
  • They can register online from September 8th to 15th October, 2010. They can register until 31st, October with late fee.
