Union Bank of India has released notification for Probationary Officers posts | Selection procedure, exam patters and other details of Union Bank of India PO posts

Union Bank of India is recruiting candidates for Probationary Officers posts. Total posts are 1165. Selection procedure will contain two stages.  Those are written test and an interview.  Basing on the marks secured in the written test, candidates will be called for interview in 1:3 in general category and 1:5 in reserved category. Being successful in the interview guarantees the job.

Pattern of question paper in written test
Written exam will consist four sections.  Number of questions and total marks for each section also varies for each section.  Test of Reasoning section will have 75 questions for 80 marks, Test of quantitative Aptitude will have 50 questions for 60 marks, General Awareness will have 50 questions for 60 marks and English language will have 50 questions for 50 marks.  Time duration of the exam will be 2 hours and 15 minutes.  Total marks allotted for this objective test is 200 and passing marks are 40% for general and 35% for reserved category candidates.

English… only for qualifying
Candidates have to get qualifying marks in English section.  Otherwise marks secured in other sections will not be taken into consideration.  But the marks secured in English will not be included while the final list of successful candidates is prepared.

Computer knowledge test is must
Along with the 4 objective method sections, candidates have to face another section in the written test.  That is Test of Computer knowledge.  Total number of questions in this section is 50 and marks are 50.  This section will contains basic questions on computers, usage, maintenance and minimum awareness of various software applications presently used.  Cutoff marks for this section is 50% for general and 45% for reserved category candidates.

Negative marking
Negative marking method is followed in the objective test.  Every wrong answer will be given 1/4th negative mark.  For 4 wrong answers 1 mark will be cut from the total marks secured.  So candidates have to be very careful while answering the questions.  Following elimination techniques is not recommended.

United Bank of India is offering pre training facility to SC, ST and minority category candidates who have applied for Probationary Officers Posts.

Probation period and Service Band
Candidates who are successful in every stage of selection process are kept in probation for two years.  And selected candidates will also have to sign a service bond that they will work in the bank for at least 3 years.
