NTPC scholarship scheme

NTPC is offering scholarships to SC, ST and physically challenged students who are studying Engineering in Electrical, Mechanical, Instrumentation, Computer science, Electronics branches.

Value of Scholarship: Students who are selected for this scholarship will be paid Rs.1500 per month.  This amount will be given to the students from their second year of engineering till the end of the course.

This scholarship will be given to the students who got an admission in engineering full time course.  Students whose family annual income is less that one lakh rupees are eligible for this scholarship.  Value of scholarship is  Rs.2,000 per month. Total number of scholarships is 100.

Vellore Institute of Technology University is offering scholarships to 200 top scholars through out India, who are financially backward.

University Grants Commission Junior Research Fellowship

 

University Grants Commission is offering Junior research fellowships to encourage Engineering and Technology Research Scholars towards PhD.  Candidates who finished masters degree in Engineering/Technology/Pharmacy with minimum 55% marks are eligible or this scholarship.

Value of fellowship and duration: Rs.14,000 per month will be provided for the first two years.  Rs.15,000 per month will be handed over after that.  22.5% reservations are available for SC, ST candidates.

JNTATA Endowment Loan Scholarship

These scholarships are provided to the students who are studying Engineering abroad and have a good academic record. The amount of scholarship will be according to the conditions and it will be between Rs.1.5 lakh to Rs.8 lakhs.

IIIT, Hyderabad

Pratibha Scholarship:  Andhra Pradesh government is providing these scholarships to students of IIIT from Andhra Pradesh.  Students whose family income is below one lakh rupees are eligible for this scholarship.

L & T limited scholarships

 

L & T ECC an associate of Larsen and Toubro (L & T) Limited Construction is offering these scholarships.  Engineering graduates who want to pursue their masters degree in Construction Technology and Management branch from IIT Delhi or IIT Madras are eligible for these scholarships.

Amount of the scholarship and duration:  Rs.9,000 stipends per month will be paid to the 40 Engineering graduates who joined the two year duration course.  Candidates who finish the course successfully will be appointed as regular employees of the Company.

Central Sector Scheme of Scholarships

Higher education department of Central Human Resources ministry is offering ‘Central Sector Scheme of Scholarships’.  These will be given to graduates, post graduates and students of professional courses like Engineering and Medicine.   Students who completed Intermediate of equivalent course with minimum 80% marks are eligible for these scholarships.

Value of scholarship and duration:  Under ‘Central Sector Scheme of Scholarships’, Government is providing 82,000 scholarships (41,000 for boys and 41,000 for girls) per year.  During an academic year the selected students will get Rs.1,000 per month for 10 months.

Students who are joining in the first year of Engineering/Medicine bachelors degree can apply for this scholarship.  Students who get admission through their merit only are eligible for this scholarship.  Candidates will be selected depending on the annual income of their family.

Scholarship value and duration:  13 scholarships are offered every year.  Rs. 1,00,000 is given to Engineering students and Rs.1,15,000 is given to medicine students.

Kishore Vignaanik Protsaahan Yojana – KVPY fellowship

 

To the students of Basic sciences, Engineering and Medicine, Indian Government Science and Technology department is offering fellowships.  Students who are joining the first or second year of BE/BTech/BArch courses in the year 2010-11 are eligible to apply for this fellowship. The candidate should have got a minimum of 60% marks in tenth class and Intermediate. (50% marks for SC, ST students).  Rs.4, 000 – 7,000 will be given to the students through this scholarship.
