For registration new private/non-commercial vehicles in Karnataka, the owners of the vehicles have to produce application to the concerned authority along with documents, prescribed fee and tax challans. Application form in CMV 20, Sale certificate from CMV21, insurance certificate, residence proof which can be any one of the ration cared/passport/LIC policy/electricity or telephone bill/pay slip of central or state government offices/house tax receipt, temporary registration or trade certificate issued by dealer, road worthiness certificate, fee paid at RTO counter, income Tax, advance registration allotment letter and proceeding permit in case of transport vehicles are the documents that need to be submitted to the registering authority. Vehicle shall be produced for inspection in the RTO premises.

All the above documents need to be filed before the registering authority in Mysore, Hubli, Bangalore in Karnataka for registration of vehicles.  The vehicle that needs to be registered has to be produced for inspection at the RTO premises.
