Who was Vikram Sarabhai? | What was Vikram Sarabhai’s role in establishing a satellite technology center?

VikramSarabhaiVikram sarabhai was born on august 12th in 1919 in Ahmadabad and he went to Cambridge for higher studies after the completion of the matriculation in 1940. He came back to India as there was Second World War and joined as research scholar near Sir C.V. Raman in the Indian institute of science in Bangalore. He had done the research in physics and went to Cambridge University and completed the PhD. He returned to India in 1947 after the completion of the PhD. He had played an important role in the establishment of the physics research center in Ahmadabad in November in 1947. He had collected lot of information on the satellite when he came to know the usage of the satellites and he had convinced Jawaharlal Nehru for the establishment of astronomical center for future use. He used to encourage the other scientists to make the satellite technology reach a common man. The government had given santhi swaroop bhatnakar award in 1962 and padmabhushan award in 1966.
